New Cruise Ships will Set Sail from Florida

Celebrity Silhouette — the newest ship joining south Florida at Port Everglades. Among the other new ships dropping anchor nearby are Disney Wonder, Carnival Breeze, Oceania Riviera, and Celebrity Reflection at Port Miami.....

Fiscal year 2013 is looking very bright for the south Florida cruise industry. Many new ships will be calling south Florida home, beginning October of this year, to include Celebrity Silhouette  —the newest ship joining south Florida at Port Everglades. Among the other new ships dropping anchor nearby are Disney Wonder, Carnival Breeze, Oceania Riviera, and Celebrity Reflection at Port Miami. Although Port Everglades will not have any new ships next fiscal year, it will be welcoming Princess Cruises' Royal Princess along-side Celebrity Sillhouette.

The new ships will be bringing new amenities along with them, some completely new the cruise industry, such as the Thrill Theater and Bonsai Sushi sushi restaurant on Carnival's Breeze. Another among the many new experiences that will be available is the Lawn Club aboard Sillhouette. At the Lawn Club, passengers can grill their own food (or have it done for them by a professional chef) in a open-air atmosphere. This is a very unique dining experience aboard a ship, indeed. Additionally, Reflection will offer the Reflection Suite, a 1635 sq ft suite with an all-glass shower (made of one-way glass for privacy, which can also be shaded further) extending out over the ship's edge.

Many cruise opportunities will be made available, aided by the arrival of new ships. Casino cruises operated by Black Diamond Casino, Inc. are expected to begin before the end of the year from Port of Palm Beach. Cruises will be offered to the Bahamas, Mexico, Caribbean, and so forth, with a cruise to fit just about every budget, such as the two-day cruise to the Bahamas, offered by Celebration Cruise Lines.

All of this opportunity for new experiences and variety in cruises is expected to spell a great year for south Florida. Experts are predicting over 4 million passangers will sail from south Florida's ports this year.
