New Video Series Showcases Carnival Destiny Transformation Into Carnival Sunshine

Today marks the debut of the first in a new series of videos from Carnival Cruise Lines that will document the dramatic transformation of Carnival Destiny into Carnival Sunshine following an unprecedented $155 million refurbishment currently taking place at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy.

Hundreds of workers are involved in the groundbreaking refurbishment project which will add all of the dining, bar and entertainment innovations that are part of Carnival’s “Fun Ship” 2.0 enhancement program, along with features unique to Carnival Sunshine.

The first video in the series chronicles the pioneering role of the Carnival Destiny – which entered

service in 1996 as the world’s first 100,000-plus-ton cruise ship – while offering a preview of some of the soon-to-be-added spaces on Carnival Sunshine, including a stunning three-level Serenity adults-only retreat, an exhilarating racing-themed water park, a glittering new atrium and more.

New videos are scheduled each Friday as the dry dock continues so be sure and check back at the Carnival news blog for updates on this exciting project!
