Police Found over 24 pounds of cocaine on a cruise ship, four people arrested

The Criminal Investigation Department of the Judicial Police (PJ) of Funchal waged a drug trafficking operation, seizing cocaine that was hidden inside a cruise ship docked at the seaport Madeira.

 

In a statement, police said that the drug was "distributed and hidden in the lining three backpacks and two lady handbags " and was placed aboard in Latin America, six foreign nationals, unspecified.

 

The head of the Criminal Investigation Department of Funchal, Eduardo Nunes, said that the Spanish police authorities "arrested four people in Tenerife [Canary Islands] and identified the other." The head of the PJ said that these people "were already referred by the Spanish authorities."

 

The head of PJ declined to reveal what the cruise ship that made a stopover in Funchal.
