Rhapsody of the Seas Quarantined by the Local Authorities in Fiji

Fiji media is reporting that there was outbreak of Norovirus leading to passengers and crew being quarantined on board Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas. Fiji Health Ministry received a report that while the ship was docked in the port of Denarau, Nadi on Monday there were sixty seven people infected.
Ships statement says that environmental containment measures have been undertaken by the ships medical team and crew.

Norovirus is highly contagious virus causing acute gastroenteritis that leads to vomiting, stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, cramps and fever.
Yesterday the entire ship was quarantined by the local authorities as sixty seven people were diagnosed with GI, but later in the day, the restrictions were eased.

Rhapsody of the Seas next stop is New Caledonia, where authorities are informed about the Norovirus outbreak.
