Royal Caribbean has released its health protocols for cruise ships sailing from Australia during the upcoming cruise season. These include government mandates and day-of-boarding requirements.
Royal Caribbean has warned that these protocols can likely change between now and when the day of the actual sailing.
Health policies
All guests must review and confirm that they have read and accepted their obligation to comply with Australian Government protocols and Royal Caribbean's additional terms and conditions.
All guests, including Australian citizens, must ensure they meet the requirements for entry to Australia's international borders, including vaccination status, visas, and travel exemption requirements.
Vaccine requirements
According to Australian federal and state government cruise guidelines, at least 95% of guests must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
All guests over the age of 12 will be required to show proof of full TGA (Therapeutic Goods Authority) approved vaccinations at the terminal in order to sail.
Full vaccination requires guests to have all doses of the Covid-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to sailing.
Children 11 years of age and younger and guests with medical exemptions are permitted to travel, however, there is a limit to the number of unvaccinated guests who may travel on each cruise departure.
If you are traveling with unvaccinated children under the age of 12, or if someone in your travel group is unvaccinated due to a medical exemption, please be sure to notify Royal Caribbean of your vaccination status by contacting your travel advisor and completing our form sent on the 7th day after your reservation made or call your local office directly.
Testing - before the cruise
Prior to arrival on the day of embarkation, all guests traveling with us are likely to be required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test themselves, at their own expense, in order to meet the requirements for embarkation in accordance with Australian Federal and State Government guidelines.
Masks
Masks will likely be required at the cruise terminal. On board, masks are likely to be optional for vaccinated guests and recommended for unvaccinated children while on board. Masks may be required for some destinations. Guests under the age of 2 will not be required to wear a mask.
Restaurants and other places
Tables and chairs in all dining areas on board are frequently disinfected.
Shore Excursions
