Royal Caribbean Introduced Coca-Cola’s Freestyle Machines

The very first Freestyle customized machine for RCCL was installed aboard the Majesty of the Seas in June

If passengers who favor cruising aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise ships used to wonder what they would drink in order to refresh themselves, that wondering is not an issue anymore as this cruise company signed a contract with the Coke Company to install the new Freestyle Machines aboard all of the RCCL ships.  These new machines incorporate 125 flavors of the products which this company offers.

The very first Freestyle customized machine for RCCL was installed aboard the Majesty of the Seas in June of this year, while the other ships would receive their own machines later this year.  As previously mentioned, these machines were specially customized for the sole usage of the RCCL ships in order to allow for the health code modifications in a marine environment, as well as the addition of the Radion Frequency Identification, or the RFID.

This innovation aboard the RCCL ships is a result of the multi-year effort by RCCL to bring some of Coke’s newest advancements to their passengers.  RCCL will be the very first company that has ships floating around the world to incorporate these high tech machines that can hold so many flavors in such a well sized machine.

The Fleet Beverage Operation Director of RCCL, Bob Midyette, describes the new invention aboard the ships with excitement when he gives a statement that the machines are “using medical micro dosing technology, flavor cartridges just slightly larger than those of the standard ink jet printer opened a world of flavors never available before…it was like going from an IBM series 700 mainframe to an iPhone 4, skipping everything in between.”

Well there you have it, for those who are currently cruising the open waters aboard the Majesty of the Seas can experience this new master piece full of flavors and refreshments, while the rest of the RCCL is left to wait for their own little Coke factory aboard the rest of the cruise ships.  One must wonder how the rest of the competition of RCCL would follow after this little surprise from this fast growing company.  We will see, but for now one thing is for sure, the passengers aboard the RCCL ships will never run out of choices for refreshing themselves.

The question for RCCL crew members from bar department is whether this will help them and focus on sales of liquor or this machines will take out some revenue from their sales.
