Submitted by kgnadmin on

Starting May 21st Royal Caribbean will once again hire crew from India. This great news comes two weeks after the company announced a temporary suspension of all assignments for shipboard employees from India or people who reside in this country.

Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley said on Facebook that the crewing from India will once again commence, with enhanced health protocols for these crew members.

“We are re starting crewing from India on May 21st. There will be enhanced protocols to ensure safety. PCR test, 14-day quarantine, PCR test, Charter flight, PCR test, Vaccine, Quarantine and PCR test. Hopefully, these enhanced protocols will only be in place for a short time as we all become vaccinated. Other countries where the pandemic is surging will have same protocols. FYI.”

Mr. Bayley said these protocols will be in place at least for a "short time", adding that due to additional quarantine requirements crew contracts will be lengthened during this period by 2 months. All details will be presented to each crew member before the journey begins.
