Star Wars princess Leia hospitalized while performing on Holland America cruise ship

The former Star Wars princess, actress Carrie Fisher was hospitalized due to a bipolar disorder. The actress who played 'Princess Leia Organa' in the trilogy, suffers from a bipolar disorder, which caused her to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital, according to TMZ revealed.

 

According to a spokesman for the American artist, Carrie Fisher manages to regulate the disorder and medical condition is progressing well.

The incident that led to hospitalization occurred during the past week-end, on a Holland America cruise ship sailing the Caribbean, where Carrie Fisher played some themes and forgot the lyrics. The rep says it's unclear if Carrie will return to perform on the cruise ship again.

Another person who was on the cruise and witnessed the meltdown said that Fisher appeared fine at Half Moon Cay (Holland America's private island in the Bahamas) and "was genuinely a very warm and seemingly wonderful person."

The actress and writer was part of the original trilogy of "Star Wars", having played one of the main characters in the episodes "IV - A New Hope", 1977, "V - The Empire Strikes Back," 1980, and "VI - Return of the Jedi, "1983.
