Two Crew Members Sentenced to 6 Years in Prison for Smuggling Cocaine

The Court of Valencia has sentenced to six years in prison and fines of 800,000 euros two crew members of a Italian cruise ship for smuggling 15 kilos of cocaine. The drug, from Argentina had a purity of between 74 and 82% and its value is estimated at 1.5 million euros.

According to the statement, provided by the Valencia High Court of Justice, men, Honduran and Ecuadorian nationality, may replace the prison sentence for the expulsion of the country for a period of 10 years , but in all cases must meet in Spain three years and nine months in prison.

The arrest of the men, 38 and 44, took place on 15.40 pm last March 28, when a number of police officers proceeded to identify them. In making its caching, officers found each of the accused six plates attached to the body by strips and arrested them.
