After 23-day crossing Carnival Legend arrives in Australia

Following a 23-day trans-Pacific crossing, Carnival Legend arrived in Sydney Harbor earlier this week to kick off a seasonal schedule of eight- to 12-day voyages featuring destinations throughout New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji.

Carnival Legend’s arrival Down Under was celebrated with a fire-boat salute as well as the singing of the U.S. national anthem and the traditional Australian song Waltzing Matilda by more than 2,000 guests on board, dubbed the “biggest chorus at sea.”

Carnival Legend joins Carnival Spirit which operates year-round departures from Sydney.

Guests sailing on Carnival Legend can enjoy a host of on-board innovations that are part of the line’s Fun Ship 2.0 product enhancement initiative.  These include the Caribbean-inspired RedFrog Pub, the full-service Bonsai Sushi, and Green Thunder, the steepest and fastest water slide at sea.

Carnival Legend will sail in Australia through April 2015 then embark on an 11-day Hawaii cruise followed by a seasonal schedule of Alaska voyages from Seattle.
