On April 9, 2022 the exceptional athlete and two-time Olympic gold medalist Kristina Vogel, will christen the newest ship in the Aida Cruises fleet, AIDAcosma, in Hamburg. AIDAcosma is the second cruise ship operated by AIDA Cruises with liquefied natural gas (LNG). At the godmother's side will be the Austrian captain Vincent Cofalka.
Guests attending the ceremony can expect a fantastic light show that immerses AIDAcosma and the evening sky over the Hanseatic city in a sea of colors.
300 glowing drones and modern beam lights will make AIDAcosma shine. The culmination of the 20-minute production of light and color, which will be available to fans online from 9:30 p.m. at www.aida.de/taufe and the AIDA YouTube channel is the festive baptism ceremony. For the musical accompaniment, the cruise company brings the DJ ALL COLORS on board. With two billion streams, 32 diamond, platinum and gold awards from Europe to Asia, as well as multiple chart positions and number 1 hits, the Berlin superstar is one of the most successful national acts when it comes to house music. Every summer, the 36-year-old inspires countless festival fans all over Europe who love to dance and party. On the evening of AIDAcosma's christening, ALLE FARBEN swaps its festival desk for the Beach Club stage and presents a 60-minute show only for the guests of the subsequent christening voyage, in keeping with the ship's motto "The world is becoming more colourful".
Guests on the 14-day christening cruise from April 9 to 23, 2022 from Hamburg to Palma de Mallorca can look forward to a unique cruise. After the exclusive christening event, AIDAcosma departs at around 11:00 p.m. and first does a lap of honor in front of the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie. The ship then sets course for its summer destination in the western Mediterranean. During the two-week trip over the Easter holidays, guests will have ample opportunity to discover the new ship and enjoy an onboard program full of highlights. Southern England, Lisbon, Málaga and Barcelona, among others, invite to discovery tours on land.
Reiner Meutsch, founder of the FLY & HELP foundation will be also on board. From April 12 to 17, 2022, the globetrotter will be presenting the show "Abenteuer Weltumrundung" and reporting impressively on his trip around the world and his numerous aid projects. Together with the Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP, AIDA Cruise & Help, as a long-standing partner, will organize a large raffle for the construction of schools in emerging and developing countries.
The pianist Joja Wendt, the iconic AIDA guest artist Wayne Morris and comedian Niko Formanek will provide the appropriate entertainment on board. In addition, guests can enjoy new show formats: the show "Alles Liebe" is new in the Theatrium, and the join-in game "Who knows something?" in Studio X. and in the Time Machine restaurant the show "We travel to the future to the year 2025".
For guests who love to dance, performances by DJ Mokabi with remixes and his own creations from Tropical Deep House in the Beach Club and by Marc Jendrollik from GletscherFezzer with Bavarian party music in the brewery round off the evenings.
AIDAcosma guests can also look forward to a huge variety of offers. The beautiful new Ocean Deck extends over four decks and offers 360° panoramic ocean views and an infinity pool at the stern of the ship. The new fun park with a large indoor playground and the new bouldering wall offer plenty of variety. The variety of connoisseurs is also enriched: In the new specialty restaurant Beach House, light summer delicacies are served. The specialty restaurant Mamma Mia offers homemade pasta and fresh Italian cuisine with seat service and the brewery gets an outdoor grill with beautiful sea views. Guests are spoiled with culinary delights in 17 restaurants and 23 bars and cafés.
From April 23 to October 15, 2022, AIDAcosma will be offering voyages from Palma and Barcelona. Florence, Rome and Corsica are also on the program on the week-long "Mediterranean Treasures" highlight route. In autumn she sets course for her sunny winter home in Dubai. Here you can choose from/to Dubai or Abu Dhabi on 7-day trips to the magical Orient.
