"You enjoy - we donate!" - under this motto, visitors to this year's Hamburg Cruise Days at the AIDA holiday world were able to indulge in culinary delights and at the same time do something for a good cause. With the proceeds from the sale of freshly prepared burgers and drinks, the charitable initiative AIDA Cruise & Help is now financing the construction of a school in India, making the 33rd project possible worldwide.
From August 19 to 21, 2022, cruise enthusiasts were able to find out more about the wide range of travel options offered by the Kussmund fleet in the AIDA Holiday World on the Kehrwiederspitze. In addition to popular highlights such as the true-to-original show cabin from AIDAcosma, the large roof terrace, which invited guests to linger with its loungers, and the best entertainment from AIDAradio, a special fundraiser awaited visitors: upon presentation of previously purchased charity coupons, AIDA gourmet godmother Felicitas Then served delicious food Burger creations from their food truck. The Beach Bar also provided suitable drinks for the summer temperatures.
All proceeds from the coupon sale will now benefit AIDA Cruise & Help. Thanks to the large participation of visitors to the AIDA holiday world in the form of almost 2,800 burgers and cocktails sold, a new school will be built for the Indian village of Mandalapalli over the next twelve months. In the future, a spacious building will offer around 80 pupils a protected setting for remedial teaching. The project is rounded off by the addition of a staff room.
Many thanks also go to the partners involved: the beverage manufacturers Thomas Henry and Bacardi supported this initiative by kindly providing their products.
Since 2019, AIDA Cruise & Help has united all charitable projects of AIDA Cruises. The initiative is committed to better educational opportunities in emerging and developing countries and thus to a sustainable improvement in the future prospects of children and young people in the poorest parts of the world.
