Yesterday a crew member of the cruise ship AidaBlu who needed medical treatment disembarked at the port of Corfu, Greece. Corfu Port Authority was informed by the ship’s Captain, shortly after the vessel departed, requesting to return in order to disembark a 27-year-old crew member who needed hospital treatment. From the port, the crew member was transferred by ambulance to Corfu General Hospital.

On May 23, AIDAblu started the cruise season in the Eastern Mediterranean departing on a 7-day voyage from the port of Corfu. The ship will sail Eastern Mediterranean itineraries until October 17, 2021, visiting the Greek ports of Katakolon (Olympia), Heraklion (Crete), Rhodes and Piraeus (Athens).

Passengers sailing on the previous cruise said AidaBlu captain made an announcement that the crew will be vaccinated against Covid-19 on May 28, at the port of Piraeus. Guests reported that Captain Peter Schade announced AIDA Cruises was able to secure vaccines for the shipboard employees thanks to the Greek health officials. Half of the crew received the vaccine in Piraeus on May 28, and the rest were scheduled for vaccination in the following days.
