"The Avengers" on Disney Magic

Disney Magic, the first cruise ship of Disney Cruise Line, is in the shipyard for a complete redesign that runs from stem to stern of the vessel, including the internal and external parts of the ship. Among the novelties, the Disney Magic will have a new lobby, redesigned spaces and a waterslides to entertain youngsters. 

 

“We have always been committed to reinvesting in our fleet and continuously making shipboard enhancements that elevate the guest experience,” said Karl L. Holz, president of Disney Cruise Line. “What we’re doing with the Disney Magic is yet another step forward in our commitment to delivering the absolute best family vacations at sea.”

“Storytelling is at the heart of everything we do,” says Joe Lanzisero, senior creative vice president for Walt Disney Imagineering.  “Walt Disney was a master storyteller and knew how to engage people’s emotions into stories.  Our job is to take what we learned from Walt and apply it to the experiences on board our ships.”

 

The big news of the "new" Disney Magic will be the characters on board. Besides Mickey and the gang, the cruise will feature "The Avengers," Marvel heroes who first appear on a ship. Kids can enter a special command center used by the Avengers for special missions. 

 

In the gastronomic novelty is the restaurant Carioca, a tribute to Brazilian cuisine and character Zé Carioca. The restaurant was designed to be fun during the day and elegant evening. Besides the Carioca, the Disney Magic has the Animator's Palate, which also undergoes retrofit is considered one of the most traditional restaurants of ships company.

The ship's spa is being expanded and will square meters. Among the new services the Smile Spa offers teeth whitening, a new salon for hair as well as special treatments for adolescents aged 13-17 years.
