Brazilian and Filipino Among Crew Diagnosed with Meningitis on MSC Orchestra

A Brazilian who is part of the crew is among four people with viral meningitis aboard MSC Orchestr. Besides Brazil, a Filipino, one Italian and one Indonesian were infected by the disease. Information provided by Ansa agency.

Two of the crew - Italian and Indonesian - are in "serious condition," the company said. The others are receiving medical treatment in Livorno, Italy. "As a precaution and in accordance with maritime authorities, all passengers on board received a treatment of antibiotic prophylaxis. No other crew member or passenger manifest symptoms of meningitis," explained MSC Cruises.

According to the latest news the two crew members are recovering and are in stable condition. The Brazil, and Filipino are in good health and will be released from the hospital in the following days.
