Two Brazilian cruise ship passengers have been kicked off Celebrity Solstice for stealing a designer handbag from one of the on-board shops. The couple disembarked the ship in Dunedin, New Zealand escorted by the local police after the woman was caught by CCTV cameras taking the bag. The theft of the $400 bag happened when Celebrity Solstice was on its way to Port Chalmers. Shop Staff noticed that a Michael Kors handbag was missing and immediately notified the onboard Security to check the CCTV recordings. After they identified the person, ships security notified the Dunedin police and the woman together with her companion were escorted off the ship.

Celebrity Cruises, did not pressed any charges and will help the pair in arranging flights, however the couple needs to cover all expenses for getting back to Brazil.

Celebrity Solstice is currently sailing on a 14-night Australia & New Zealand cruise visiting Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Fjordland National Park, Dunedin, Akaroa, Wellington, Tauranga, Bay of Islands and ending the voyage in Auckland on 19, January 2016.
