Today August 3, Mein Schiff 1 celebrated the first arrival in Warnemunde with 1,254 guests on board, during her “Swedish Coast 4” voyage. At the helm is Captain Jan Fortun, who was already in the port of Warnemunde with the Mein Schiff 4 during the winter, preparing the ship for the upcoming restart.
“When I regularly entered the port of Rostock with the Mein Schiff 4 in winter, something crucial was missing, our guests. So I'm pleased that we are calling at this beautiful port for the first time today with the Mein Schiff 1 during a regular cruise. "
The first call of Mein Schiff 1 was greeted by the port of Rostock: "After the technical calls of three TUI Cruises ships between November 2020 and July 2021 at the Rostock overseas port, we are today looking forward to a cruise call by TUI Cruises with guests in Warnemunde. Mein Schiff 1 is located at Cruise Center 8, and guests can spend a day discovering the beauty of the seaside resort of Warnemünde and the tourist diversity of the Hanseatic and university town of Rostock, ”said ROSTOCK PORT Managing Director Jens A. Scharner. The guests have the choice between guided excursions and individual shore excursions in Warnemunde.
All guests on board have been tested several times: Two negative tests are mandatory before the start of the cruise. Yesterday, all guests on board (children from the age of 12) who have not yet been vaccinated or recovered and would like to go ashore in Warnemünde were tested again on board.
The Mein Schiff 1 was scheduled to be the TUI Cruises ship to start cruises in the Baltic Sea region from Warnemunde this season. However, the corona pandemic thwarted the plans. Instead, the cruise ship is currently sailing from Kiel to the Baltic Sea and today made a stopover in the Rostock seaside resort on the return journey from Visby. Another visit of "Mein Schiff 1" in Warnemünde is planned for August 12th.
