After successfully completing the first phase of the crew repatriation plan in Southampton, Carnival Breeze is sailing to the port of Cadiz to pick up the fellow team members from Carnival Victory. According to the plan the Breeze is scheduled to arrive in Cadiz on May 21, to pick up all crew on Carnival Victory not deemed part of the safe operational manning, along with contractors on board.
“We know that your Carnival Victory colleagues will be very happy to join you aboard Breeze as they have been in Cadiz at the shipyard since the end of March. Please do your best to welcome them and make them feel at home.” Said Christine Duffy President of Carnival Cruise Line in a letter sent to the crew.
Following the crew transfer on Carnival Breeze, the ship will make stops in Civitavecchia and Dubrovnik. From Italy and Croatia, the company plans to have all European crew members return home. Carnival Cruise Line representatives are looking at air options to return crew members to other countries and parts of the world. The company said that travel restrictions to and from certain countries make this task challenging, but they hope to have some options available for the remaining crew.
“Please continue to follow all procedural guidelines designed to keep you and your fellow team members safe. We very much appreciate your cooperation and flexibility during these unprecedented times. Thank you for your continued support" Christine Duffy President of Carnival Cruise Line.
