Carnival Glory resumed operations yesterday in Barcelona after completing a 21-day refurbishment. The ship embarked on a 14-day transatlantic cruise and is heading to its new base in Port Canaveral, Florida. Before departure, Captain Luca Cherchi held a plaque exchange with Port of Barcelona representatives.
During the refurbishment at Navantia, Carnival Glory was upgraded with various enhancements. These include a redesigned casino, updated décor and furniture in all public spaces, and the addition of a Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge. This new lounge, part of an expanding initiative across the Carnival fleet, pays tribute to military veterans and active-duty service members. Also new is a Dreams Photography Studio, along with improvements to the ship’s spa. For younger passengers, the Camp Ocean youth area was revamped, and a large video wall was installed to boost the Space Cruisers program, developed in collaboration with Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The ship’s Warehouse video arcade also received a facelift, and updates were applied throughout various public areas.
On May 2, Carnival Glory will dock at Port Canaveral, joining Carnival Freedom, Carnival Vista, and Mardi Gras. There, it will offer short three- and four-day cruises to The Bahamas, with stops at Nassau, Freeport, Princess Cays, and Bimini. Meanwhile, Carnival Liberty will shift from Port Canaveral to New Orleans, arriving on May 6.
