The cruise ship Carnival Legend responded to a call for help from a catamaran that had run out of fuel off the coast of Bahamas. Carnival Legend delivered 25 gallons of fuel to the boat crew in order to make its way back to Jacksonville, Florida. John Heald, Carnival Cruise Line’s brand ambassador, shared Carnival Legend crew response to the call for help on his Facebook page.

“Our pause in sailing guests doesn’t mean we pause our obligations as seafarers to help others in distress.

On Tuesday, while Carnival Legend was off the coast of The Bahamas, our great crew responded to a call for help from a small boat that had run out of fuel. Carnival Legend rendezvoused with the small craft and delivered 25 gallons of diesel fuel so that the boat could make its way back to Jacksonville.

Many thanks to Carnival Legend Captain Alessandro Galotto and his team for their efforts in lending a hand to their fellow mariners.” said John Heald.

Kudos to Captain Alessandro Galotto and his crew for their assistance to fellow seafarers.
