Celebrity Cruises Implements Onboard Medical Exams for Crew

Celebrity Cruises announced Improvements for crew member’s medical certificates policy. All Celebrity crew were required to undergo medical exam on every two years in their country of residence before boarding on cruise ship. In order to check their medical fitness crew would often travel long distances to approved medical facilities in their country paying up to $700 every two years.

The new policy implemented by Celebrity for the crew Welfare Program is in-house bi-annual medical exams. This means if a crew member medical certificate will expire before his/her next contract starts, they can visit the onboard medical infirmary and take the exam in a couple of hours for the minimum price. This new procedure will benefit the crew who will pay less for medical, and the company to ensure that trustworthy medical exams are carried out.
