Carnival Luminosa to Join Carnival Miracle in Baltimore Following Dry Dock

Carnival Cruise Line will expand its Baltimore operation by deploying Carnival Luminosa alongside Carnival Miracle beginning in November 2028.

Carnival Luminosa will arrive in Baltimore after completing a scheduled dry dock. Carnival said the ship will receive refreshed spaces and other improvements before beginning its new program.

The two ships will offer voyages ranging from six to 14 days, connecting Baltimore with 22 destinations across The Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, New England and the Caribbean. The published schedule currently extends through April 2029.

Carnival Luminosa will operate seven- and eight-day cruises to The Bahamas and nine-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries. Longer Carnival Journeys cruises of 12 and 14 days will visit destinations including Aruba, Curaçao, Barbados, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, St. Croix, St. Maarten and St. Thomas.

Carnival Miracle will offer cruises to The Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada and New England, as well as the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. Its schedule includes two eight-day Canada and New England voyages in September 2028, calling at Portland, Halifax and Saint John.

The expanded program also includes Carnival’s private and exclusive destinations, including Celebration Key, RelaxAway at Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk and Amber Cove.

Adding a second ship gives Carnival greater flexibility to offer both standard weeklong cruises and longer voyages from the Mid-Atlantic region. It also allows passengers to reach destinations deep in the Southern Caribbean without flying to Florida.

For the shipboard teams, Carnival Luminosa’s move will introduce a new homeport operation following the dry-dock period. The transition will require coordination between marine, technical, hotel and shoreside teams as the vessel prepares for its first Baltimore season.
