Celebrity Cruises has chosen an Interesting name looking upward with its latest ship Celebrity Ascent. The name was announced at the steel-cutting ceremony at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique was attended by Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, Richard Fain, Chairman and CEO of the Royal Caribbean Group and Laurent Castaing, General Manager of Chantiers de l'Atlantique. The Company is expecting Celebrity Ascent, the fourth Edge-class ship to debut at the beginning of 2023.

"The name of this new ship is very apropos as the industry rebounds, but also as Celebrity continues to lead the industry as an unmatched new-luxury brand and cruise line," said Richard Fain, chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, parent company of Celebrity Cruises. "Celebrity Ascent will take the industry to new heights as it pushes the boundaries of what people can experience on a ship and how they experience it."

The same class ships of the company, such as Celebrity Edge, recently launched Celebrity Apex, and next year’s Celebrity Beyond (due in late April) are the sister ships of Celebrity Ascent.
