The United States Coast Guard evacuated a female crew member in need of urgent medical attention from the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Navigator of the Seas.
The crew member, who was experiencing lower abdominal pain, was medically evacuated on Thursday at around 2:53 am while the ship was sailing in the Pacific Ocean just off the coast of Southern California this week.

Coast Guard Sector San Diego released the following statement:
"The Coast Guard medevaced a 26-year-old woman Thursday off the Navigator of the Seas cruise ship approximately 30 miles west of San Diego. Watchstanders received a report from the cruise ship at 12:10 a.m. of a 26-year-old woman with lower abdominal pain. Watchstanders coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station San Diego MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew to conduct the medevac. The aircrew arrived on-scene, hoisted the woman aboard the helicopter, and transported her to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Coast Guard Air Station San Diego."

The Coast Guard shared this video of the medical evacuation.

The woman was taken to Hillcrest Medical Center at the University of California, San Diego, where she was last reported to be in stable condition.

We wish the crew member a swift and full recovery, hoping that she can soon regain her strength and join her colleagues. Our thoughts are with her and we send our warmest wishes for her health.
