January 13 2016 will mark the fourth anniversary of the sinking of Costa Concordia near Giglio Island in which 32 people died. To mark this tragic event a mass will be held in honor of the victims in the Church of St Laurence and Mamiliano (Giglio,Italy), by the bishop Father John Roncari. Afterwards, at 12:50, in Punta Gabbianara it is planned to lay a wreath in memory of the victims. In the evening, at 21.30, a procession with torches, will start from the church of Giglio Port to reach the dock where at 21h at the time of the impact, the sound of bells and sirens of the boats in the harbor will accompany a prayer for the victims. The council of Giglio announced the date of January 13 as the 'Day of the victims of the Costa Concordia 'in imperishable memory. "It will be always a moment of silence for our entire community, in memory of this event, which caused many deaths and devastated the island," said the mayor of Giglio, Sergio Ortelli.
