Couple Found Dead Aboard MS Ryndam

Holland America Line, issued a statement this afternoon in which confirms the discovery of two bodies in one of the cabins onboard ms Ryndam, which docked on Thursday in San Juan.

"At 11:30 am, local time, two passengers aboard the ms Ryndam were found dead in their cabin in what appears to be a suicide,"  says the press release issued this afternoon by the  Holland America Line public relations office of based in Seattle, Washington.

"The cabin was secured immediately and we notified the authorities, including the FBI. We are fully cooperating with the investigation and authorities."

FBI  is investigating the circumstances in which the passengers died on the ship. Victims are a man and a woman, both 57, with American nationality.

"We are deeply saddened by this tragic event and our prayers and thoughts are with the families and friends of these passengers in this difficult time," says the press release.

FBI is conducting preliminary investigation, and is in contact with the cruise shipcrew. The spokesman of San Juan Port Authority said the incident was reported directly by ms Ryndam security personnel  to federal authorities. He noted that no details if the incident occurred at sea or when they had docked at Pier 3 of San Juan.
