We all know that embarkation day is the most busiest day of the cruise. Crew members simply don’t have enough time, and most of them can’t go out to do their shopping in the US home ports. Realizing this necessity, the 32-year veteran of the cruise industry Ketta Riley, decided to open the company “For Crew Only”. Currently offering services for Port of Miami the company is waiting for a location at Port Everglades and Port Canaveral.
Ketta Riley has worked for one of the largest cruise lines in the world across a variety of different departments ranging from reservations to revenue management. For a short period of time she was also lucky to work onboard one of our ships as a crew member -- but for the last 10 years, she has worked exclusively in the technology department working closely and hand in hand with the ship operations side of the business.
It was during this time that I became engaged with many of the ship's crew and officers and this allowed me to get a clearer appreciation and understanding of what the day to day needs of the crew really are. It was from these regular encounters with crew members and listening to their stories that drove me to work on a simple way to help them. Over the course of the last 18 months, myself and a few handpicked colleagues then developed the website and services we are proud to launch today.
