Cunard and P&O Cruises announced improvement of Wi-Fi connectivity aboard the fleet with the integration of SpaceX's Starlink technology. This partnership aims to provide reliable, high-speed internet access to passengers and crew aboard the ships.
Cunard initiated the Starlink implementation in June 2023, with plans to roll out the service across Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth, and Queen Mary by the end of the year. The eagerly awaited Queen Anne, set to debut in May 2024, will also offer this cutting-edge technology.
P&O Cruises introduced Starlink aboard the Britannia and Azura and the service will be available aboard the Arvia, Iona, Ventura, Arcadia and Aurora by the end of the year.
“Sharing unforgettable moments with friends and family back at home is an important part of any holiday,” said Paul Ludlow, Carnival UK president. “Whether it’s uploading a picture of a sunset as you sail away from a newly discovered destination or catching up with the news, live events, or content from home, Starlink will make it even easier for our guests and colleagues to stay connected.”
Jonathan Hofeller, Vice President of Commercial Sales at Starlink, underscores the importance of this collaboration: "High-speed internet is essential in our modern lives, whether at home or while traveling. We're thrilled that Cunard passengers and crew will benefit from improved Wi-Fi service, no matter where their voyage takes them."
With Starlink on board, Cunard and P&O Cruises are making a significant leap forward in meeting the connectivity needs of modern travelers. Passengers can look forward to sharing their cruise moments seamlessly, enjoying their favorite content, and staying connected to the world while experiencing the luxury of life at sea. This partnership marks a promising future for cruise connectivity.
