DCL Names Seventh Ship Disney Adventure

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Disney Cruise Line President Thomas Mazloum announced on Saturday the name of the company's Singapore-bound vessel, the Disney Adventure.

The ship originally commissioned for Genting's Dream Cruises and currently under construction at Germany's MV Werften shipyard has found a new home with Disney. This change in ownership came due to Genting's unfortunate demise in 2022. Now, under Disney's stewardship, the ship is being transformed into the Disney Adventure.

Disney Cruise Line's Southeast Asia Debut

In collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board, Disney Cruise Line will homeport the Disney Adventure exclusively in Singapore for a minimum of five years, beginning in 2025. Singapore's selection as the homeport for the Disney Adventure is attributed to its strategic location, world-class air connectivity, and state-of-the-art port infrastructure, making it a thriving cruise hub in Southeast Asia. This choice is poised to make Southeast Asia a prime destination for Disney enthusiasts and cruise lovers alike.

The Disney Adventure's Construction

The construction of the Disney Adventure is currently underway at the MV Werften shipyard in Wismar, Germany, under the expert management of Meyer Werft. With a gross tonnage of 208,000, the ship promises to be a marvel of modern maritime engineering.

While the name of the ship is unveiled, Disney Cruise Line fans and adventure seekers around the world can anticipate more details about the maiden voyage and onboard experiences, which will be announced at a later date. Disney enthusiasts, both young and young-at-heart, can now eagerly count down the days until they can embark on their very own Disney Adventure, set against the backdrop of Southeast Asia's enchanting landscapes and rich cultural tapestry.
