Disney Cruise Line Announces New Vaccination And Testing Requirements

Disney Cruise Line has announced that new updates are coming to their health and safety protocols regarding vaccination requirements.

COVID-19 Vaccination: For sailings departing from U.S. and Canadian ports through September 1, 2022, Disney Cruise Line requires guests 5 years of age and older to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of sailing, as defined by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Beginning September 2, 2022, for sailings departing from US and Canadian ports, Disney Cruise Line will require guests 12 years of age and older to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of sailing, as defined by the CDC. In keeping with CDC guidelines, Disney Cruise Line strongly recommends that guests 11 years of age and younger be fully vaccinated prior to sailing.

Following CDC and World Health Organization guidelines, Disney Cruise Line accepts the following vaccines for guests 5 and older: Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Covishield, Novavak, Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV (VeroCell), Sinovac -CoronaVac and Covavacin (Bharat Biotech).

For guests 5 years of age and older, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines fully vaccinated as 14 days after receiving one of the following:

- One dose of an accepted 1-dose vaccine.

- Second dose of an accepted 2-dose vaccine.

- The full series of active (not placebo) COVID-19 vaccine in the US-based AstraZeneca or Novavak COVID-19 vaccine trials.

A second dose of any combination of approved vaccines against COVID-19 (administered at least 17 days apart).

Disney Cruise Line accepts Pfizer and Moderna for guests ages 4 and under; Sinopharm (BBIBP-CorV, VeroCell) for guests aged 3 to 4 years; and Sinovac (CoronaVac) for guests aged 6 months to 3 years.

For guests age 4 and younger, the CDC defines fully vaccinated as receiving one of the following:

3 doses of Pfizer: second dose administered 21 days after the first; and the third dose administered 56 days after the second.

2 doses Moderna: the second dose is given one month after the first.

2 doses of Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV (VeroCell): the second dose is administered 21-28 days after the first.

2 doses of Sinovac-CoronaVac: the second dose is administered 14-28 days after the first.

COVID-19 Testing For Fully Vaccinated Guests: Fully vaccinated guests on sailings departing from US and Canadian ports must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (paid for by the guest) taken one to 2 days prior to departure to would be exempt from boarding testing at the terminal. Completing pre-travel testing prior to the day of boarding improves the efficiency of boarding and confirms that you are negative for COVID-19 before traveling to the terminal. 

Pre-travel test results must be uploaded to the Inspire Diagnostics Safe Passage website by midnight prior to the day of boarding.
