Disney Cruise Line has appointed Leslie Lopez as Human Resources Manager to support its hiring and employment efforts in the Bahamas. In this newly created role based in the Bahamas, Lopez will build relationships with key business partners while recruiting Bahamians for a variety of jobs with Disney Cruise Line – both onboard the ships and at its main Bahamas destinations.
“Disney Cruise Line is committed to employing a majority Bahamian workforce at Castaway Cai in Abaco and our upcoming experience at Lighthouse Point in Eleuthera. "Leslie's global experience in human resources and his deep understanding of Bahamian culture will be instrumental in achieving our goal," said Michael Almeida, Director of Human Resources, Disney Cruise Line.
"With her ability to build a positive workplace culture and implement employee engagement initiatives, Leslie will play an active role in Disney Cruise Line's contributions to the Bahamian economy and workforce."
Prior to his current role as Human Resources Manager at AML Foods Limited, Lopez held several Human Resources and Hospitality positions with The Bahamas for global companies and resorts. He holds a master's degree in human resource development from Barrie University and a bachelor's degree in hospitality from Florida International University.
Lopez is a Certified International Resource Professional and holds a teaching certificate from Harvard University.
Through his professional and academic experience, Lopez has developed a passion for connecting Bahamian workers to quality jobs that serve as a foundation for lifelong success.
