During the National Association of Music Merchants 2023 event, also known as NAMM Show, Kirby Mathurin, popularly known as DJ CUE, represented both Carnival Cruise Line and his home country Saint Lucia as the very first Pro DJ to open up the Pioneer Booth.
The NAMM Show is the largest stage in the music, sound, and entertainment technology industry, bringing together global communities. This year's event took place from April 13-15 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.
As a rising star in the world of DJing, Kirby Mathurin has made tremendous strides in his career since he began in 2017. After joining Carnival Cruise Line as a professional DJ in 2018, he has achieved significant recognition and success in the DJing world. He was the 2nd runner-up at the Heineken Green-synergy competition in 2017 and 2018 before joining Carnival Cruise Line.
“Representing the CCL at NAMM was an experience I will never forget.Sharing the main stage with Grand Master Flash, meeting Jazzy Jeff and so many more of the DJs who started the Hip Hop culture and turntablist made it an experience.The most iconic part for me was the DJs I looked up to who recognized me from my flag colours and DJStylemade me feel better about representing my flag and getting recognition out there. So far for my career, we are connecting dots for a potential DJ EXPO showcase and hopefully showcase more equipment as I am a brand ambassador for Pioneer DJ.” Said Kirby for St. Lucia Loop.
