In the State of the Cruise Industry Outlook 2016 by CLIA it is expected total of 24 million passengers for next year, a figure far higher than the 15 million cruise passengers totaled ten years ago (in 2006) or to the 1.4 million of 1980, when the organization began to record the number of passengers. Growth of river cruises. The members of Clia currently have 170 cruise river ships while 18 new river cruise ships were ordered in 2016 (+ 10%). 

More ships, more options. This year there are 471 cruise ships and next year plans to launch 27 new ocean-going vessels. 

The grooving Asian market. They are record numbers coming from Asia, which registrars the fastest growth in the industry. Between 2012 and 2014 the volume of passengers has increased from 775mila to 1.4 million passengers (+ 34% per year). 

Cruises in Australia. In 2014 the cruise industry in Australia has exceeded 1 million passengers. In ten years the number of cruise passengers has grown more than six times.
