Famous Chef Traveling on a Cruise Ship Arrested with Counterfeit Money

One of the most famous names in Brazilian gastronomy, Chef Dudu Camargo was arrested last Saturday by the police in Singapore. He was accused of carrying fake US dollars in the Marina Bay Sands casino. Accompanied by his wife, the chef was on gastronomic tour in Asia for a month visiting different cities on a cruise ship. Dudu was arrested in time when he was paying his casino bill.

He was released after one day with the intervention of the Brazilian consulate. According to his statement, he was not charged with bail because local authorities concluded that the businessman was the victim of a fraud. According to people close to Dudu, the police was courteous and showed understanding with the version that Dudu himself had been the victim.
