Francesco Schettino is Back at Sea

"Schettino has not been suspended to navigate a boat, even he is not suspended to navigate large tonnage vessels such as cruise ship, so in theory he has not broken any law."

"Costa Concordia captain sails again” is the headline in the British newspaper the Sun, the former commander Francesco Schettino is back at the helm. This time is not on a cruise ship, but a motorboat, the photo that shows Schettino in "trunks" and sunglasses on board a small motor boat with a friend, explains that the mysterious companion drove the boat for a while 'and then gave way to Schettino.

Schettino has been sighted and photographed by the photographers of the Sun in the sea of Meta Sorrento, Campania, where he has an obligation to stay.

According to the Sun, boat belongs to Schettino lawyer, Bruno Leporatti. But the lawyer has denied: "That’s not me in the boat with the captain Francesco Schettino I do not own a boat or a raft, nor have I hired a boat. I wasn’t  at sea with Schettino near Sorrento Peninsula."

Leporatti also stated that "Schettino has not been suspended to navigate a boat, even he is not suspended to navigate large tonnage vessels such as cruise ship, so in theory he has not broken any law."
