With the restart of the final ship Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings marked the most important milestone of the Great Cruise Comeback. The return to service of Norwegian Spirit, the last ship to welcome back guests on board of the entire 28 ship fleet of NCL, Regent Seven Seas, and Oceania Cruises is a major milestone and commitment to cruising.
Following this announcement, Frank Del Rio President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings send a letter to the crew, thanking them for their support, resilience, and hard work.
“During these past two years, we learned a lot about ourselves and what we as a team can overcome and accomplish both as individuals and as a company.
We fought through hills and adversity, and while the COVID pandemic upended all of our Jives, there are lessons learned and skills honed that we will carry on for years to come.
We learned how to adapt to any situation at a moment's notice. Being nimble and agile were always part of our culture, and we refined that skill during the pandemic as well, likely better than any other company out there. We demonstrated our support and empathy for fellow team members, travel partners, and the communities we visit knowing we were all going through similar experiences personally and professionally, and that helping each other get Up whenever they were down was the only way we'd collective y get through this time.
Most of all, we showed a resilience that very few Individuals and organizations had the opportunity nor the need to demonstrate. Without that resilience, we wouldn't be in the position we are In today with our full feet in operation our financial position strong-and our guests rediscovering why cruising on our three brands provides the best vacation experience on the high seas.
So now as we look squarely ahead on our path back to becoming the best performing cruise operator in the world. I want to thank each and every one of you once again for the hard work, dedication, and commitment that you have brought to this company and to each other.
With all the trials and tribulations that the pandemic wrought, it's easy to forget that our mission the reason we even exist and come to work every day, is to provide exceptional vacation experiences to everyone that chooses to sail on one of our three brands.
Each and every task that we perform goes towards that goal, whether you work on land or at sea. And after the last two pandemic-laden years that mission is more important than ever as guests return to the sea and choose our brands for safety to reintroduce them to the world of travel.
It's a privilege to be given that trust, let's remember that as we work every single day to further our mission and bring the world closer together once again.”
