Fred. Olsen cruise ship Borealis will not be able to set sail today after the vessel experienced technical issue, the cruise line said.
"We recently upgraded our onboard technology, and although in our sea trials this worked perfectly, we have since identified a potential issue which we are working hard to resolve," the company said in a statement on social media.
The ship will remain in Portsmouth while work to resolve the issue takes place. All guests, both on board and those due to sail on the affected cruise, are being provided with regular updates on the situation.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Line said the next Scenic Orkney & Faroe Islands voyage on the Borealis has been cancelled, according to Friday update.
"We would like to give you a further update on Borealis and her location. It has been confirmed that we will not now arrive in Liverpool at the time we had planned. Our technical team continue to work to resolve the issue. The delayed departure from Portsmouth means we unfortunately won't arrive in Liverpool on schedule for our next cruise - S215. Therefore we have made the difficult decision to cancel this sailing."
