With a growing number of travelers looking to explore global destinations without international flights, Holland America Line is launching its "See the World from Your Doorstep" campaign, highlighting the cruise line's leadership in roundtrip travel from US homeports.
Those looking to avoid a long-haul flight can sail round trip from Boston; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; San Diego or Seattle with Holland America. The brand has more 15-night cruises from the US to destinations around the world than any other cruise line, visiting 225 ports in 91 countries.
"Over the past year, we've seen a shift in the way people vacation with the unpredictability of air travel and the desire to explore more, and there's more interest in longer trips from our home ports in the U.S.," said Casey Cole, vice president, marketing and e-commerce, Holland America Line. "Passengers love the idea of discovering the islands of the South Pacific or the exotic shores of Africa with just a simple drive or short flight to one of our home ports."
A recent Cruise Critic survey found that 82% of US respondents would rather book an international cruise that departs from a domestic port than fly to an international port. Holland America Line offers four Grand Voyages, round trip from the US, for travelers who want to circumnavigate the world or explore Africa, South America or Australia. Monthly cruises include a roundtrip itinerary from San Diego visiting Hawaii, Tahiti and the Marquesas, or a roundtrip departure from Boston visiting Greenland, Iceland, Norway and the British Isles.
In addition to extended voyages, Holland America Line also offers vacations of 15 nights or less to popular destinations such as the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Canada, Alaska and Mexico round trip from a US port of departure and from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
