Despite the efforts by the cruise lines, Hawaii left the passengers craving for the sun, stacked in the cold weather, wondering about the restarting of the cruise industry in 2022.  

The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) public information officer Jai Cunningham said the state is focused on the “safest possible resumption of cruise,” but acknowledged “the earliest resumption of cruises to Hawaii would be January of 2022.”

In addition, Cunningham said that no local port agreements, considering pandemic-related health and safety protocols were signed so far.
