Jewel of the Seas to Undergo Complete Refurbishment and Start Mediterranean Season in 2016

Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas, will receive complete makeover, in the summer of 2016 and will start its Mediterranean season. The 90,000 gross tons cruise ship will be the only one of its kind to navigate back and forth itinerary departing from Civitavecchia, Rome from May to October 2016. Royal Caribbean announced that the remodeling will cost $ 30 million.

The main changes on the ship include:

Family suite with two bedrooms

24 new external cabins with private balcony

new Italian restaurant, Giovanni's Table

new bar, Vintages Wine Bar

new Japanese restaurant, Izumi Japanese Restaurant

new system of high-speed wireless internet, VOOM

Giant screen cinema by the poolside

In addition, the company announced that it will update to existing venues such:

Chops Grill

Spa

Shopping area

Jewel of the Seas will carry out itineraries to some of the best destinations in Italy, Greece and Turkey, visiting some of the most popular ports such as Athens, Mykonos, Ephesus and Santorini on seven to eight nights itineraries.
