Medical Evacuation on P&O Britannia

The Spanish sea search and rescue team of the organization -Salvamento Marítimo, evacuated today a British passenger sailing on the cruise ship P&O Britannia. 

The medical evacuation was executed this morning while Britannia was 209 Kilometers North-West from the port of La Coruna. The weather conditions were not favorable, with force winds 8 kN. Helimer 401 helicopter was used in the operation to airlift the British patient to the airport from where he was transported to a hospital. Below is a video of the actual medevac.

Britannia departed Southampton on April 8, for a 14 Night Canary Islands and Portugal voyage, and is expected to arrive in Funchal, Madeira on April 12.
