Mein Schiff 4 Crew Member Deisembarks in Italy After Testing Positive for COVID-19, 9 Crew Members in Quarantine

A 26-year-old Indonesian woman part of the crew of Mein Schiff 4 tested positive for Covid-19 and nine crew are in quarantine during the last days of the cruise. The young woman who had symptoms of the virus tested positive on swab test and disembarked the cruise ship in Salerno, Italy where she was admitted to “Mauro Scarlato” hospital in Scafati, fortunately in good health.

The case was immediately reported first to the captain of the ship and then to the health authorities in Salerno. Health measures have been taken and nine direct contacts have been identified, all part of the crew then placed in isolation on board. The first tests of the direct contacts were negative, but more testing will follow to monitor the situation.

There was some inconvenience for travelers, whose visits to Salerno needed to be modified. Today the ship set sail from Civitavecchia, where the crew members are tested again to see if the virus has been transmitted or not.

TUI Cruises Mein Schiff 4 is sailing to the Italian and French Riviera since July 8, departing from Genoa. The ship offers two 7-night voyages which can be combined.
