After 4 Covid-19 cases, that have occurred onboard Mein Schiff 4, TUI had to end some of the passenger's journey prematurely. In specific, 300 passengers wanted to continue their vacation for seven more days, in order to spend their Christmas in the sun on this cruise ship. But, the above-mentioned corona cases emerged on the ship during the Gran Canaria break up. According to the spokeswoman, the infected had either no symptoms or only mild symptoms, all disembarked the ship in Las Palmas/Gran Canaria and were sent in quarantine accommodation on land.
The end of this cruise was on Sunday, 19th of December, 1,300 passengers had completed the contracted seven-day trip normally, another 300 had to prematurely abandon their 7 + 7-day journey. The ship sailed with new guests the next day, on Sunday evening. The 3G model (vaccinated, recovered, tested) is currently in effect on board, and 2G plus (vaccinated or recovered with an additional test) from February 23rd. Nevertheless, the vaccination rate among adult travelers is currently 95 percent.
