MS Koningsdam to be Christened by Her Majesty Queen Máxima

Holland America Line will continue the tradition of christening their cruise ships by the members of the Dutch Royal Famil. Thier latest Pinnacle-class cruise ship, ms Koningsdam will be christened by her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands. The ceremony will be held in Rotterdam, on May 20, 2016.  

Members of the Royal Dutch Family have launched eleven Holland America Line cruise ships. Princess Máxima in 2010 christened ms Nieuw Amsterdam  and then-Queen Beatrix served as godmother of ms Eurodam  in 2008. Holland America Line ship Statendam III was christened in 1929 by Prince Hendrik and Nieuw Amsterdam II in 1937 by Queen Wilhelmina. Then in 1957 Princess Beatrix named Statendam IV  and Prinses Margriet in 1960 chritened Rotterdam V.

MS Koningsdam will spend the summer maiden season sailing from the homeport of Amsterdam, to Norway, the Baltic and Iceland. Following its Europe season, MS Koningsdam will set sail to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for Caribbean cruises during the winter and spring.
