MSC Cruises celebrated the naming of its latest flagship MSC Seashore, and largest cruise ship built in Italy. The glamorous event took place on November 18, at the private island Ocean Cay Marine Reserve with the icon of Italian class and style Sophia Loren, serving as a Godmother of all MSC Cruises ships since 2003. MSC Seashore cruise director extraordinaire Gene Young had the honor to be Master of Ceremonies for the event which was attended by Gianni Onorato Chief Executive Officer, Ruben Rodriguez  MSC Cruises President for North America Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises Allen Clifford, Executive Vice President at MSC USA, and other top leaders.

After the official naming ceremony, the celebrations continued with a very special concert featuring the one and only Nile Rodgers performing with Chic.

The naming of MSC Seashore was also an opportunity to officially inaugurate Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the private island that welcomed the first guests in December 2019 and then temporarily closed due to the pandemic. Ocean Cay also saw the laying of the foundation for the MSC Marine Conservation Center, which includes a marine biology laboratory.

The Seashore is a new generation ship, the first of the Seaside EVO-class. With 339 meters in length and a capacity of 5,877 passengers, the ship combines innovation and design. On board, you immediately understand what the main theme is. The interior is in fact inspired by the city of New York, and every little detail is a tribute to the Big Apple. For example, there is the splendid replica of the Statue of Liberty, which towers over the heart of the casino. While the large area dedicated to shopping and entertainment (named Times Square) boasts an 8 and a half meter LED wall that reproduces the Manhattan skyline.
