MSC Cruises has announced that in 2023 Cádiz will serve as a turnaround for its cruise ships. The success that MSC is achieving in some Spanish ports —such as Valencia and Alicante, which accounts for 30% of MSC Spain's business— has made the company look for other Spanish points for embarkation.
Currently, one of the company's ships, the MSC Orchestra, makes stops in Cádiz. However, from next year the city will act as a base port for the company, which will have a very positive impact on the tourism sector.
“We appreciate the great relationship we have with the Port of Cádiz and Suncruise Andalucia , with whom we will continue to work hand in hand to allow Spaniards and Andalusians to enjoy their cruise vacations, departing from a port close to home”, said Fernando Pacheco , CEO of MSC.
“We want to thank MSC Cruises for their commitment and loyalty to Cádiz. The arrival of their cruise ships is an opportunity for the city and local commerce ”, said Montemayor Mures , Councilor for Tourism, Commerce and Consumption of the Cádiz City Council.
