MSC Cruises delays the entry into service of MSC Seaview

Submitted by jozo on

The scheduled inaugural cruise of MSC Seaview, the 15th MSC cruise ship that will join the fleet next month, was postponed. The cruise ship is currently in the final construction phase at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, where there was a great progress since the keel was placed in February 2017.

However, although Fincantieri shipyard works with a team of almost 4000 employees, in three working shifts 7 days a week, in order for the ship to be finished for its inaugural cruise, it will still need a few more days for its final touches. This additional time is necessary for MSC Seaview to be fully prepared and, most importantly, to ensure that it is able to offer guests the vacation experience they expect from the cruise line.

For this reason, the date on which MSC Cruises plans to receive MSC Seaview is currently on June 4. As a result, the inaugural ceremony will take place for operational reasons in Genoa (Italy) on June 9. MSC Seaview will welcome its first passengers the following day on June 10at the Port of Genova instead of the previously scheduled inaugural cruise on June 7.
