The MSC Fantasia, one of MSC Cruises' vessels, is currently undergoing a drydock refurbishment at the Palumbo Shipyard in Malta.
The vessel made its way to the shipyard on September 25th, 2023, where it embarked on a comprehensive program of regular maintenance, classification updates, and interior renovations. With a scheduled completion date looming just around the corner, MSC Fantasia is set to return to the seas in top-notch condition.
The shipyard stay is planned to conclude by the night of October 11th to 12th, 2023. This timing is vital as it allows MSC Fantasia to make its way to Genoa in time for the scheduled departure of the next cruise on October 13th, 2023. The refurbishment period offers more than a week's time to undertake various technical overhauls and refresh the ship's interior spaces.
Throughout the summer of 2023, MSC Fantasia had been stationed in Kiel, Germany, offering Northern Europe cruises that sailed through the Baltic Sea, Norway, and Iceland.
After the dry dock refurbishment, the ship will resume guest operations on October 13th, 2023. Initially, MSC Fantasia will offer four and five-day short trips in the Western Mediterranean. On October 28th, 2023, MSC Fantasia will embark on week-long winter voyages in the western Mediterranean, departing from Barcelona. This cruise itinerary will feature ports of call in Italy, including Genoa, La Spezia, and Naples, as well as stops in Palma de Mallorca and a return to Barcelona in Spain.
