MSC Cruises announced that MSC Grandiosa is switching the Baltic Cruises with the Norwegian Fjords for the 2022 summer season. Instead of looking for alternative ports, MSC Cruises has decided to change the entire route of the MSC Grandiosa. The ship will sail weekly voyages from Kiel to Denmark and then on to Norway, where she will visit Hellesylt, Alesund and Flam.
MSC Cruises confirmed that the company suspended all calls to St. Petersburg, Russia. As such, MSC Grandiosa will now be fully dedicated to the Fjords region, while MSC Poesia and MSC Preziosa will still call in the Baltic, and St. Petersburg will be replaced by other popular destinations in the region like Stockholm, Tallin and Visby. MSC Cruises is contacting travel agents and guests affected by the updated itineraries for all three ships.
MSC Virtuosa, which sail from Southampton in the summer, will not carry out the planned cruises to the Baltic States either. Instead, the ship will sail to southern Europe and Norway, on 7- and 12-night itineraries visiting Haugesund, Flaam, Olden, Maloy, Nordfjordeid and Molde, among others.
MSC Poesia and the MSC Preziosa will remain in the Baltic Sea as planned from May to September 2022. MSC Poesia will sail from Warnemünde to Riga, Helsinki, Stockholm, Tallinn, Copenhagen, Kristiansand and Oslo in seven and 11 nights, while MSC Preziosa will sail from Kiel to Tallinn, Helsinki, Stockholm, Bergen, Kristiansand and Stavanger.
Guests originally booked on one of MSC Grandiosa’s former itineraries in the Baltics and still wishing to experience a cruise there can opt for one of the summer 2022 itineraries on MSC Poesis or MSC Preziosa.
