NCL Delays Debut of the Norwegian Viva

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Norwegian Cruise Line is the latest cruise company to be affected by supply chain issues of its newly built ship Norwegian Viva.

NCL announced cancellation of the first six weeks of European sailings in 2023 on the Norwegian Viva, due to supply chain disruptions delaying the ship's delivery.

Norwegian Viva with 3,250 passengers is the second ship in the new class of the Prima line. Its sister ship, Norvegian Prima, has also been delayed this year due to supply chain issues but is due to debut this month with a naming ceremony in Iceland on August 27.

Viva was scheduled to begin sailing on July 3, 2023. The line canceled Viva's sailings until August 17 and moved Norwegian Getaway to take over Viva's canceled voyages.

Guests can either sail on a comparable itinerary on Getaway with a 20% discount off the original cruise price paid or cancel the current booking on Viva and rebook at a later date.

Guests who cancel sailing must do so by September 2. All affected guests will receive a 10% discount on sailings from August 28, 2023, to December 31, 2024.
